Nepal Music Center (NMC) proudly hosts internationally recognized music education conferences and meaningful cultural exchanges, reflecting its commitment to global engagement and academic collaboration. Among the major events are the Cultural Diversity in Music Education (CDIME) and the International Society for Music Education (ISME) conferences. In 2017, NMC co-hosted CDIME XIII (Cultural Diversity in Music Education) in Kathmandu alongside the Sibelius Academy, marking the first time this important conference was held in Nepal. The event brought together PhD and master’s-level researchers, educators, and artists worldwide to explore inclusion, intercultural pedagogy, and indigenous musical traditions. Nepali educators contributed insights on oral traditions, curriculum ethics, and teacher development, fostering rich dialogue between local and global perspectives. In 2019, NMC hosted the International Society of Music Education (ISME) conference, welcoming global scholars and practitioners to promote intercultural understanding through music education. Beyond conferences, NMC organized the GLOMUS CAMP, a unique international camp featuring participants from 21 countries. This camp focused on deep, meaningful interaction through music and performing arts, encouraging cultural exchange, collaboration, and friendship among young artists. Together, these initiatives embody NMC’s core value of internationalization, placing Nepal at the heart of global music education and cultural dialogue.
