A Confluence of Global Harmony and A Milestone for Formal Music Education in Nepal
In October 2024, Nepal became the sacred ground for an extraordinary unfolding—the GLOMUS Camp, hosted by Nepal Music Center. Set amidst the serene beauty of Gokarna Forest, this international convergence welcomed over 100 participants from 31 universities across 21 countries, joined by 65 Nepali Music and performing arts students.
What transpired was more than a camp—it was a celebration of unity through rhythm, voice, and presence. Esteemed institutions such as Berklee College of Music, the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus and Sibelius Academy, journeyed to Nepal not merely to teach or perform, but to share, to listen, and to co-create in the space where tradition and innovation meet.
GLOMUS Camp 2024 reminded us that music is not only a discipline—it is a healing force, a bridge between worlds, and a timeless invitation to expand consciousness.
We sincerely hope that the Nepali students we invited from institutions across Kathmandu walked away from this experience feeling inspired, empowered, and seen.
